Prof. Suha Alalawi, General Director of the General Administration for Investment and Privatization, and the first Saudi woman to attain full professorship in Finance and Sustainable Investment. She is considered one of the prominent leaders in developing investment and governance policies at both the academic and societal levels, and represents a national model for empowering women in decision-making positions.
She led strategic initiatives to develop financial and investment policies at King Abdulaziz University in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, and contributed to enhancing the efficiency of resource management and diversifying university investments. She also assumes leadership responsibilities in the nonprofit sector, where she contributes to guiding investment decisions and linking financial growth with sustainable social impact.
She has extensive experience that combines academic and financial practice, having held positions in international institutions such as the Bank of Ireland, the Royal Bank of Scotland, and the London Stock Exchange, which provided her with global insight into risk analysis and portfolio management.
Her research and initiatives focus on sustainable investments, governance, and ESG integration in financial policies. She is also known for supporting the development of young talents and strengthening partnerships across the academic, economic, and nonprofit sectors.
