Professor in Computer Science. Currently also serving as the Acting Vice President of Academic Affair, and as the Acting President of King Abdulaziz University from July 2022 to February 2024. She was also the Dean of the Female Campus in 2009 for five terms and held the position of the first Dean of the College of Home Economics for three terms, while also holding the position of Dean of the Female Campus at the new University of Jeddah. Among her previous positions, she supervised the Computer Science Department and was the first Associate Dean for E-Learning and Distance Education, launching the first e-learning program in higher education for women in the Kingdom.
Hana Alnuaim holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Texas, and a master’s and PhD in Computer Science from George Washington University. She has published and peer-reviewed research papers in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), machine learning, user-centered design, usability, media, e-learning, e-government, and knowledge cities. In addition to teaching and supervising Master's and PhD students, she has extensive training experience for faculty members, having participated in numerous administrative, academic, and web-based projects, as well as university-level accreditation programs. She has been invited as a speaker at many local and international conferences and exhibitions in her academic and administrative capacity to represent the university and Saudi women leaders, including Times Higher Education, QS, STEM, and knowledge cities.
